The Kingdom of Bhutan (or just Bhutan) is a landlocked state in South Asia. In World War 3: Sinister Operations, however, it becomes the world's next major superpower. Also, it is the antagonist country during the first portion of World War 3: Sinister Operations

In World War 3: Sinister Operations, the Kingdom of Bhutan becomes the world's next major superpower when the People's Republic of China gives Bhutan half of its supply of rare earth minerals, giving Bhutan a chance to rise to the top of the list of major superpowers, thanks to the greedy King of Bhutan. Later, out of greed, Bhutan invaded the nation of Angola in order to use its land to experiment their own army of cyborgs, which were programmed to capture any foreigners in the area; this sparks the Angolan Hostage Crisis.
The Bhutanese military become the first antagonistic faction in the novel, as well as the series overall.
